If you have mobility issues, please advise our office at the time of making your appointment and we will arrange to meet you at The Bolands Centre, 14 Spence Street, Cairns, Qld.
Initial Consultation
In our initial interview with you, we listen carefully to you to gain a full understanding of your circumstances and what you would like to achieve.
We will advise you regarding your options and likely outcomes. Then we will work with you on case strategy to achieve the best possible outcome for your circumstances.
Fees
Clients will be charged costs for our professional services on a time costing basis.
Our costs are calculated on the basis of the time we spend working on your matter at the hourly rate applicable to the lawyer performing the work.
Charge out rates will be advised to you. You will be provided with an estimate of legal fees for your case in writing at the start of your case and will be kept advised of your fees as your case continues.
We require a retainer fee to be paid to our firm’s trust account before starting work on your case. The retainer will be used to pay your fees and outlays for interim accounts or your last account at the discretion of the firm. Any balance remaining after your last account is returned to you.
Itemised accounts are issued at the end of each month and are payable within 14 days of issue. Deferred payment of professional fees is available in certain cases.
